Day 1

Day 2   09:15 — 19:30

Kazbegi, Ananuri, Gudauri, Gergeti

  • Breakfast in the hotel
  • Tour by bus to the Georgian Military Highway. At first, we see a uniquely beautiful Zhinvali water reservoir. Then we visit the oldest fortress of Ananuri, where are temples of the 16th and 17th century. Then we visit the famous ski resort – Gudauri. It is located on the slopes of the Greater Caucasus mountain range. Our next point is village of Stepantsminda, where is the climbing to mountain of Gergeti to Gergeti Trinity Church (14th century). You see peak of Mt. Kazbegi (5047m), which is the second highest in Georgia.

  • Tour by bus to is an archeological center of Georgia and Asia, where were the remains of the first European, who lived 1.8 million years ago. Bolnisi Sioni (438-493) is the oldest church building in Georgia. It has unique works of ancient Georgian writing.

Kutaisi. The cave of Prometheus

  • Tour by bus to Kutaisi, the oldest Kolkheti town. Gelati Monastery is the most important cultural and spiritual center of 12th century. It was founded by David Agmashenebeli. Bagrati Cathedral was founded in 1003. The cave of Prometheus is known as Kumistavi. They are in a picturesque place which small rivers pass; stalactites and stalagmites form. Here is a dinosaur footprint!

David Gareja

  • Breakfast in the hotel
  • Tour by bus to a rock-hewn monastery complex of the 6th century. The complex was founded by David (St. David Garejeli), one of the Assyrian monks. It is located on a border between Georgia and Azerbaijan. It has about 20 rock-hewn monasteries, the main one being Laurus of St. David. You can see well preserved fresco painting and inscription on Georgian, Armenian, Arabic and Greek languages.

Kakheti, Signagi, Bodbe (wine tour)

  • Wine tour by bus. Kakheti is vineyards and wine! Signagi is known as a «City of Love». It has beautiful architecture. Founded in the seventeenth century by King Irakli II. It is the only town in Georgia surrounded the remaining (or restored) defensive city wall. Here are 28 matadors with astonishing panoramic views of Alazani Valley. Bodbe Monastery. Nunnery, where is the burial site of Saint Nino Equal to the Apostles and the Enlightener of Georgia. Some kilometers from the convent, house a St. Nino’s Spring. The sightseeing place is myrrh-streaming wonderworking Georgian icon of the Mother of God.

Day 7

Tbilisi Sightseeing Tour

  • Walking tour of Tbilisi. The city has a rich history, culture and architecture. We shall start from Liberty Square then we shall visit Sameba Cathedral, we’ll get the Narikala fortress on a cable car with astonishing panoramic views of city. Then we’ll go down to sulfur boilers, where Pushkin and Dumas liked to be. We shall be in the heart of the old town: narrow streets, wine vaults, the Italian yards, galleries and shops with spirit of old town. They lead to Sioni Cathedral, The Anchiskhati Basilica (VI century) and a unique clock tower — Rezo Gabriadze Theatre. We’ll visit in the famous remainder market and new Agmashenebeli Avenue.

Day 8   09:30 – 19:00

Mtskheta, Jvari Monastery, Gori, Uplistsikhe

  • Breakfast in the hotel
  • Bus tour to Mtskheta, the first capital of the Georgia, which now is cultural and spiritual center of country. We shall visit the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (XI century), where is the burial site of Christ’s mantle. The Svetitskhoveli Cathedral is tomb of Bagrationi dynasty and of the patriarchs. We shall visit Jvari Monastery, which stands on the rocky mountaintop at the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers. Gori is the oldest town, which is along the Silk Road. Uplistsikhe is the most ancient cave town. It was built in the late the 2-nd, at the beginning of the first millennium BC. It is the most important cultural and architectural monuments of Georgia.
